Erion: 300,000 tons of e-waste managed in 2020

In 2020 Erion (a multi-consortium system born from the merger of the Ecodom and Remedia consortia) managed about 300,000 tons of e-waste throughout the Italian territory, including domestic WEEE (more than 260,000 tons), professional waste (9,500 tons) and waste of batteries and accumulators (over 29,600 tons). The total quantity of waste managed exceeds that recorded in 2019 by 4%. Among the domestic WEEE, those of the R2 group prevail (white goods, 112,000 tons, 43% of the total). In second position are the WEEE of the R1 group (cooling and air conditioning, 79,000 tons, 30%), followed by the WEEE of the R3 group (TVs and monitors, 44,000 tons, 17%), R4 (small domestic appliances, 25,000 tons, 10%) and R5 (light sources, 150 tons). From the over 260,000 tons managed, Erion WEEE has obtained 133,000 tons of iron; 5,000 tons of aluminum; 6,000 tons of copper and 35,000 tons of plastic.
