Paolo Lioy (CEO of Whirlpool Italia & Iberia and VP Whirlpool Corporation) has been appointed as the new President of APPLiA Italia for the next two years. Lioy succeeds Manuela Soffientini (Chairman and Managing Direct Electrolux Appliances and Chairman Electrolux Italia). Paolo Lioy will be supported by the Vice Presidents Vittorio Bertazzoni (Smeg) for International Affairs, Marco Brogi (De ‘Longhi) for Innovation and Digital Transformation, Enrico Hoffmann (BSH) for Communication, Laura Rocchitelli (Rold) for SMEs . “It is a satisfaction and a pride – says Lioy – to represent one of the most important sectors of the national industry, present with its products in the homes of all Italians, in the bars and restaurants, and which continues to confirm itself as a recognized excellence in terms of production and innovation, always at the forefront in sustainability”. The issues of sustainability, digitization and competitiveness will play a leading role in APPLiA’s agenda. A particular focus will also be dedicated to the defense of the European Single Market.
