Innovation Lab and Innovation Awards
Innovation Lab is the space dedicated to innovation. It is a platform for the presentation of products, solutions and technologies that matches the most interesting speakers and innovations in the trade fair, including those that have already won the Amsterdam Innovation Award. On the stage of the Innovation Lab, free training sessions will follow one another, including the daily talk show Interclean Inside about sustainability, digitalization, efficiency and innovation.

Healthcare Cleaning Lab
In the Healthcare Cleaning Lab we will find products and suggestions about specific cleaning matters for the healthcare sector and live demos in hospital environment will be held to present specialized cleaning methods, guidelines, regulations for clothes, hand sanitization and much more. Demos will be managed by a professional from SVS, a training institute for the infrastructure and cleaning sector. Besides the demo space, there is also the Healthcare Cleaning Lab Theatre, where every day presentations will be delivered about the various issues concerning cleaning and infection prevention. The main themes will be faced during three debates, when experts will exchange opinions about the merits and the benefits of technologies and solutions such as non-woven fabrics, UVCs and the air quality.

Healthcare Cleaning Forum
The Healthcare Cleaning Forum of Interclean will be held for the second time at RAI in Amsterdam on May 12th 2022. The programme has been defined in collaboration with Clean Hospitals®. Central theme of this international day will be cleaning and hygiene as part of infection prevention in hospitals and in long-term hospitalization centres. At this year’s conference, visitors will have the opportunity of attending stimulating speeches and separate sessions on issues such as the impact of Covid-19, cleaning and sanitization, guidelines (international), sustainability, importance of interventions based on evidences and latest technological innovations.

Hackathon: promoting digitalization and attracting new talents
While the digitalization is destined to transform the sector, its fast growth has highlighted a key problem, the gap in digital competences among cleaning professionals and those in other sectors. To focus the attention on this theme, on May 11th 2022, 10 teams, made up by 5 members each, coming from all over the world, will intervene to demonstrate their problem-solving skills. The challenge will regard the development of an applicative concept for the cleaning staff, according to a concrete daily problem. Visitors will be allowed wandering among workstations, talking with teams, tracing their progresses and sharing their impressions about their concepts.

Robot Arena
The robotic revolution in the cleaning sector is going on, due to the more and more widespread use in its inside of automated autonomous cleaning machines. The last trend are cobots, with robots and human beings who work together to carry out the work in the most possible efficient way. In the Robot Arena, visitors will directly experiment the advantages in the use of robots and cobots to create a more efficient cleaning strategy.

Zero Waste Dome
Cleaning operators play a crucial role in the waste management and prevention: to maximise recycling, pure flows of “raw materials” are necessary. Cleaning staffs operate in the whole company, they can analytically look at the waste sorting and share in its optimization and expansion, controlling sustainable solutions, data management and logistics. On this occasion, they will present several solutions to sort, to collect, to chop, to press and to compost materials, besides examples of circularity and cycle closure by means of “waste” reuse. Every day, experts in waste sorting, environmental equipment and sustainability in the provisioning chain will illustrate current and future trends. The Zero Waste Dome programme has been developed in collaboration with the Zero Waste Foundation.

Facility Inspiration Event
The Facility Inspiration Event (FIE) is aimed at providing a guide and updated information to Facility Managers about the initiatives to be taken for the strategy development and in the provisioning of cleaning services and equipment. Target of the event is helping managers in identifying the most suitable solutions for each specific initiative, according to sector innovations. At FIE, it will be possible to attend stimulating sessions, lasting one hour, followed by thematic courses on innovation and a Connect & Exchange lunch.
