The Italian company Somipress has been producing for more than 40 years components in die casted aluminium for the household appliance, automotive and mechanical industries. In particular, for the household gas appliances the company proposes several types of burners. The components are characterized by innovation, quality and design. The product development in co-design with the customer guides the whole process. “Each project is followed by an integrated work group who ensures the highest attention to details and the implementation of the most effective and efficient solutions – the company says –. Modern simulation software are the basis of our company processes and the die casting molds are designed and built directly in-house. Somipress has its own toolmaking shop and this is essential for aluminum die casting operations. Thanks to this soft molds, prototypes and B/C-samples can be provided as well. Our clients can interact with us in real time and check the work progress”. Besides, according to the Manufacturing 4.0, the aluminum die casting process is operated by fully automated machines with closing force between 420t and 850t, using 5 different alloys. All the manufacturing equipment is integrated in the company Information System where data from the transformation of raw material to finished goods are tracked and documented in real time. Finally, Somipress follows the criteria of Lean Management and Lean Manufacturing. “The optimization and rationalization of all processes, the use of an industrial automation 4.0 and of highly specialized staff ensure the highest quality, the minimum waste of energy and resources and a shared approach which always aims at efficiency and at providing highly innovative solutions – the company comments –. After being die-casted, goods are machined with cutting edge equipment, which ensure a high precision level. Our products are also tested for leakage and, if required, they may also be provided with a laser marking”.
