Falmec Monolith (Elements Collection) won the Good Design Award 2022. This collection marks a paradigm shift by making extraction an integral part of kitchen architecture, while also adapting to many different installation types and needs. “More than just hoods, we are talking about dynamic, multi-purpose ‘modular systems’ that give free rein to creativity and open up fresh design possibilities”, the company explains. Monolith is a compact unit with a regular, cubic shape that rests directly on the worktop. The 90 cm suction unit opens up slightly to provide access to the extraction and lighting controls. 30 cm, 60 cm and 90 cm storage modules can be added on the left or the right and used to house kitchen utensils, spices, tableware, plug sockets etc. “All of this – Falmec concludes – comes together to form a marvellously equipped package for unbeatable practicality in the kitchen. Two panes of polished glass add an even more sophisticated touch to the matt black aluminium frame, while ambient lighting creates an attractive suspended effect and makes the unit as a whole seem lighter”.
