Falmec: extraction increasingly integrated with cooking

Falmec is no longer a company dedicated solely to hoods. It is a brand offering solutions that combine multiple functions in the kitchen. In particular, the concept of an extractor system that is increasingly integrated with the hob takes shape with the Icon, Eclipse, and Brera Slim models.

Icon (80 cm) features a central grill with elegant copper, gold, and anthracite finishes. Eclipse (80 cm), on the other hand, has an automatic central flap, while Brera Slim (76/90 cm) is equipped with a rear panel, which creates a minimalist and uniform look across the worktop.

The new models are available with an Ultra-Matt glass-ceramic finish, distinguished by advanced scratch-resistant technology. Besides, it ensures high durability and reduced visibility of fingerprints, making cleaning easier. The three Cooking Systems are offered in two new matt color variants (champagne and gray), with the option for color customization, as is the case with Brera Slim.

Precision in cooking

In addition to their refined design, Falmec Icon, Eclipse, and Brera Slim are equipped with technologies that allow for precise control of cooking and the extraction of steam and odors. These products feature the Pot Detection function. The hob recognizes when a pot is placed on the surface. It automatically turns on the cooking zone and simultaneously illuminates the corresponding power selector, allowing user to set it.

Another available function is Chef. It enables all available cooking zones to be used with different preset power levels. Keep Warm, on the other hand, keeps food warm at a constant temperature of 44 °C.

In addition to these programs, Icon, Eclipse, and Brera Slim feature the Bridge function. It allows user to use two zones of the hob simultaneously so that rectangular and oval pans can be placed on them. As for the timer, it can be activated for each cooking zone or independently. This allows user to set a time at the end of which an acoustic signal is emitted. Finally, the cooktops can be easily managed via the Slider control and feature Slim motors and “plug & play” installation.

Carbon.Zeo technology for filters

Icon, Eclipse, and Brera Slim by Falmec incorporate Carbon.Zeo combined filters. This type of regenerable filter uses natural materials, such as zeolite and activated charcoal, to trap odors with maximum effectiveness. Activated charcoal mainly contains carbon in the form of microcrystalline graphite, which has been processed in order to obtain a porous material with a large internal surface area. These characteristics allow it to retain a lot of substances by trapping their molecules and absorbing them in its internal structure.

Zeolite, on the other hand, is a mineral characterised by a high absorption capacity of organic compounds and water vapour. This characteristic is the direct consequence of its microporous crystalline structure.
Moreover, owing to its chemical features, zeolite releases heat when it comes into contact with moisture, thus reducing it. The use of this mineral is therefore useful to reduce odours, as well as to absorb steam produced by cooking.
