img_0382Air of optimism in Ceced home: the good performance of domestic and professional equipment in Italy is confirmed, for the second consecutive year, positive, thanks to incentives for buying furniture (and appliances) and to new technology products.
The data are those of Ceced (sell-in) and GfK (sell-out), presented respectively by Manuela Soffientini, President Confindustria Ceced Italy and Enzo Frasio, Commercial Director at GfK.
All sectors have contributed to this positive result, except for the segment of the cold which posted a -3.6% from January to November, although the built-in refrigerators in kitchen units recorded however an increase of + 2%.
The fund of the Great Appliances is, however, increased by + 2.7%, which is also confirmed by the sell-out data monitored by GfK. Good trend for ovens (+ 8.2%), cooktops (+ 6.8%) and dishwasher (+ 9.5%).
It has also taken up the segment of hoods for domestic use, which recorded a year + 0.5% in volume and + 1.7% in value.
Finally, small appliances have had a growth rate, according to Gfk data, of + 4.1% (by volume). Rewarding design, multi-functionality of the products and also here innovation, which helped to support the market.
On the sidelines, Manuela Soffientini criticized excessive promotions (black Friday, cyber Monday and so on…) in recent months: “I think the promotions of many sectors is touching a dangerous threshold, sometimes exceeding 60%, and this unfortunately generates a competitive which is not always positive for the final consumer, because it forces the use of technologies that are not always the most advanced.”
