It is called SmartsLab Table and it is a table – 3 m x 80 cm – that changes the concept of the traditional table. Sitting around it for meals is in fact only one of its possible uses because it can also be used to cook or to keep ready foods warm.
Inside SmartsLab Table, in fact, there are induction heating rings on which we can position the pots to cook, heating elements to maintain the food temperature and a thermoelectric cooling to keep drinks fresh.
Devised by Clemens Weisshaar and Reed Kram, the table is designed using a new composite material that integrates heating, cooling and sensor technology directly into big-size ceramic plates. Therefore, all controls are embedded in the table, which is then very easily cleaned, too.
