Electrolux continues to focus on the connected living by partnering with Google’s voice activated speaker Google Home, powered by the Google Assistant, with both its Frigidaire Cool ConnectTM Air Conditioner and the Anova Precision Cooker being integrated into the new platform. Electrolux has worked actively with over 300 brands to unlock the huge potential of the Internet of Things market through the Open Connectivity Foundation so that companies and brands can create products that work seamlessly together. Now Electrolux is expanding this work through partnerships with some of the largest ecosystems including Google and Amazon to create new experiences for the consumer through voice and Artificial Intelligence. “We’re excited to be one of the early partners with Google Home – said David Cronström, Head of Strategy and Ecosystems of Electrolux – giving our consumers another way to interface with our products, just by using their voice”. With both the Frigidaire Cool ConnectTM Air Conditioner and the Anova Precision Cooker now integrated with Google Home, users will be able to give a voice command to the Google Assistant, built into Google, to control both devices. Using Google Home, Frigidaire Cool ConnectTM Air Conditioner consumers can use their voice to turn their air conditioners on and off, set the temperature as well as raising and lowering it, change modes and fan speeds. They can also ask what the current air conditioner settings are, as well as what the current temperature in the room is. With the Anova Precision Cooker, recently acquired by Electrolux, Google Home users can use voice control to set the temperature and check the status of the cooking. Both the Frigidaire Cool ConnectTM Air Conditioner and the Anova Precision Cooker already have skills enabling similar functionality with Amazon’s assistant Alexa.
