Berkel has chosen to sell, to fans and collectors, the six Volano B114 slicers interpreted by a group of artists and exhibited in 2018 in Milan on the occasion of the company’s 120th anniversary. These are six unique hand-decorated pieces that evoke, through colors, symbols, graphic motifs and iconic images, six important periods of the human history. “We decided to sell them – explains Paolo Buffoli, Marketing and Communication Director of Van Berkel International – for the attitude to the sharing and conviviality that distinguishes our company: we prefer not to ‘close’ these six pieces in our company museum, but we prefer to know that they are in the houses – or in the workplace – of some of our passionate customers. Two models were sold to a Belgian customer and a German collector as soon as we made the decision to put them on the market, so currently four are left”. The pieces now on sale are: Metropolis (1918-1938), Das Reich (1938-1958), The Walls (1978-1998) and Digital (1998-2018).
