Falmec celebrates the opening of the ADI Design Museum by exhibiting its Spazio kitchen hood designed by Francesco Lucchese and awarded the prestigious Compasso D’Oro in 2020. With its elegant and innovative design, the hood features a satin glass shelf suitable for storing dishes and objects in an orderly manner, a channel equipped with hooks for the organisation of tools and a LED lighting system. In addition, Spazio provides the option of a small domestic garden for the cultivation of aromatic plants in the midst of a functioning kitchen. The Compasso d’Oro award has been handled by the ADI Association for Industrial Design since 1956. The “Fondazione Collezione Compasso d’Oro” and the ADI Design Museum collect and exhibit the winning objects – plus sketches, studies, technical drawings – with the aim of research and promotion through exhibitions and events. The location chosen for the Museum is in itself a piece of history as it is part of a renovation project of a former industrial area with a strong architectural footprint and a strategic position within a multicultural district spread over 5,135 square meters. The aim of the Museum is to tell the story of Italian design with a comprehensive description of the creative process from commencement to completion.
