Pianeta 2030 (Corriere della Sera) and Statista, the German digital platform that manages one of the main statistics and business intelligence portals in the world, have created a ranking of the 100 Italian companies most attentive to sustainability. These are companies that have included the environmental impact within their strategic plans, continuing to grow and, at the same time, committing to sustainability. Sabaf is among the 100 most eco-friendly Italian companies. It has activated various initiatives in this direction, including joining the CDP Climate Change and Water programs. CDP, formerly Carbon Disclosure Project, is a non-profit organization that provides companies, local authorities, and governments with a global system to measure, manage and disclose information about the environment. In particular, companies are asked to participate in an annual survey on the impact their activities have on the environment, the management of their environmental risks, and the results achieved. The goal is to make environmental performance central in the business and investment decisions, leveraging information transparency. Besides, in 2004 Sabaf formally joined the Global Compact, the United Nations initiative for companies that commit to upholding and promoting the ten universally accepted principles of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and fight against corruption. Further steps have also been taken in the area of the product innovation: Sabaf, for example, has introduced burners to the market characterized by high energy efficiency up to 68%.
