Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning Europe has launched air365 Max, its new vertical discharge VRF air conditioning system. Operating as a heat pump and with heat recovery with the same external unit, the product is available in two models: air365 Max standard and air365 Max Pro. Both compatible with over 120 internal units from the Set Free range, they offer versatility and high energy efficiency. The SmoothDrive 2.0 technology guarantees a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) from 7.35 to 8.38 and a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) of up to 4.76 and 5.19. These results are possible thanks to the direct control that SmoothDrive 2.0 exercises over the power provided by the compressor. “Unlike other models on the market – the company explains – in the Hitachi VRFs this control mode only acts on the rotation speed of the compressor with a precision of 0.1 Hz per step, thus making the control on the evaporation temperature of the refrigerant completely superfluous. This ability to directly control the capacity even at low loads helps reduce the operating costs and the CO2 emissions. Compared to a traditional system without this technology, air365 Max guarantees energy savings of 39% at partial loads”.
Furthermore, in combination with other intelligent functions such as Gentle Cool and Warm Feet, air365 Max solves the problem of cold or hot air jets, improving users’ well-being. And thanks to the airCloud Tap app, professionals in the HVAC sector are supported in installing, reading and changing the settings of Hitachi systems. In addition, thanks to the contactless NFC technology, the installers can configure the system and customize the settings more quickly. Finally, to optimize the operation of air365 Max, there are also solutions such as CSNET Manager (the centralized control system that monitors and regulates up to 1024 VRF indoor units via the CSNET Manager web app), the advanced color wired remote controller, and the airCloud Pro (the cloud-based centralized controller that allows to monitor and control the VRF system via smartphone).
