According to the world list drawn up by iSupply, the United States Group Intel and the South Korean Samsung rank as the major producers of semiconductors in the world, with shares respectively by 14.8% and by 10.5%. The third place is always held by the United States Qualcomm with 5.5%. Things have anyway changed behind the first three. At the fourth place there is now the United States Micron Technology, with 4.5%; in 2012 this company was only tenth, with the 2.3% share. In 2013, fifth is the South Korean SK Hynix with 4.2%. In 2012, it held just the seventh place.
