With a total value of 78.3 billion US dollars, the world sales of semiconductors were lower by 5.8% than those of the corresponding 2015-period.
The data supplied by Wsts are clear on the matter. The month of March represented however a small 0.3% recovery versus February of the current year.
The President of SIA, the United States Association of semiconductor manufacturers, John Neuffer literally stated: “Even if in March sales grew for the first time after 5 months, the demand weakness, the cyclical market and the unfavourable macro-economic conditions still hinder a stronger growth”.
