The trade association SEMI foresees that up to 62 new plants for the production of semiconductors will start operating from 2017 to 2020. Ten of them are already accomplished and are about to function, 26 are under construction, 21 are in design phase and 5 are waiting for confirmation. China will be the destination of as many as 26 plants, 10 will reach Americas and 9 Taiwan. Twenty plants will be foundries whereas, among the remaining ones, the production of memories, chips DEL, logic and analogue circuits will prevail.
