The new advanced course of the Faculty of Engineering at UNIVPM (Polytechnic University of Marche Region, Italy) was recently inaugurated, completely financed by Elica and focused on induction and microwave heating systems for hobs. It is the first time that UNIVPM has activated a course entirely in collaboration with a local company and focused on issues closely linked to the company’s business. The course, entitled “Power Electronics for Electromagnetic Heating”, involves a 90-hour training, some to be carried out at the Faculty of Engineering in Ancona and others directly at the Elica headquarters in Fabriano, at the Elica Propulsion Laboratory. “This project certainly represents a uniqueness, both for the themes proposed and for the approach, which develops the strategic pact between the territory, the world of higher education and that of business: we are the only appliance company from the Marche Region that continues to be Italian-owned, it is therefore essential for us to preserve the competitiveness of the territory and invest in young people and in the skills that support our sector, providing concrete tools to those who in the near future will be able to contribute to our innovation path, which looks more and more at the world of cooking”, declared the President of Elica Francesco Casoli on the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of the course, alongside the CEO Giulio Cocci, the Managing Director of the Elica Cooking Business Unit Luca Barboni and the management of the company that will take part in the project, in the presence of the rector of the University Prof. Gian Luca Gregori, the Electronic engineering professors, the students of the faculty and the partners who will support the initiative: UL Solutions and Innovalab.
