A recent study, by the German trade association Zvei, highlights that in 2014, according to still temporary indications, about 78 % of the world production of electronic components took place in the Asian continent. Absolute leader is China, which alone produced about 43 % of the total, followed by Japan with 15 % and by South Korea with 12%. Americas share in this production with 15%: here United States take the lion’s share with 12% of the total. Europe represents slightly more than 6%: out of that figure, one third, corresponding to 2%, is up to Germany. Finally, the two remaining parts of the world, that is to say Africa and Oceania, hardly reach the remaining 1%. In this case, the leader nation is Australia.
